- Mails are not sent, an error message is displayed immediately, after I try to send an email.
What is the error message? In most cases it gives you the exact reason, why the message was not sent.
First, check if the outgoing server name (SMTP) is set to mail.yourdomain.am, but not just yourdomain.am or www.yourdomain.am.
Check, if the smtp authentication is turned on.
Check the spelling of your email address. If you misspell the domain name, the server will probably reject to deliver the message.
Still not working? Try another email program, TheBat, Mozilla Thunderbird or others.
Try sending the mail using webmail, available at http://mail.yourdomain.am/webmail/.

- Mails look to be sent, but they return to me the next time I check my email.
Read the returned email carefully. In most of the cases the mail server reports the exact reason in the returned email. To Top
- Emails look to be sent ok, I receive no error message and it does not return to me. Still, the recipient does not receive my emails.
Try sending a test email to your account with a different provider, Google or Yahoo! are quite suitable.
Check the spelling of your email address. If you mistype your username, the error report will go to a non-existent address and you’ll never be aware of the reason. To Top
- You have no emails, but you know someone has sent you an email a while ago.
Double check if the sender has spelled your email address correctly. Ask if they've received an error message stating the problem. If the email has bounced back, the problem should be in the returned email, and is probably one of either “no such mailbox” or “disk quota exceeded”.
If the problem is the quota, check, how much space does your mailbox occupy and what is your quota. While your Inbox might be empty, there might be some emails occupying space in the Sent and Trash folders. Delete them to free up some space.
Another possibility is the message beeing sent is exceeding your mailbox size. Try increasing your mailbox quota or make up your mind about trying to transfer large amounts of data by email.
Even if your mailbox is totally empty, it’s possible that the total quota for your hosting account has been exceeded.
Ask other email account owners of your domain to delete their emails also. If it’s still not enough, contact our accounting department to increase your disk quota.
It’s possible (though hardly) that the sender’s mailserver has been blacklisted by an automated SPAM control system. Contact the sender’s ISP technical staff to resolve the issue. To Top
- I can neither send, nor receive emails.
Is there an error message displayed? Does it say something about difficulties connecting the mail server?
Check your mail server settings in your email program:
The incoming (POP3) and the outgoing mail server address (SMTP) should be mail.yourdomain.am, not yourdomain.am or www.yourdomain.am
Check, if the SMTP authentication is turned on.
Check the username; it should be you@yourdomain.am in case it’s a mailbox or just yourusername (which is most probably the first 8 characters of your domain name, ex. Your domain name is ‘randomcompany.am’ your username will be randomco. In any event, it’s mentioned in your hosting contract).
Could it be that your hosting account has been suspended due to a non-payment or any other reasons? Contact the accounting department to check/resolve the issue.
Have you checked your domain name for expiration? Try to access your website. If it says “The page cannot be displayed”, most probably the problem is the expired domain. Try to to query the "WHOIS" service for your domain name at https://www.amnic.net/whois/. To Top
- A different website is displayed when I try to access my website.
Check the correctness of the DNS servers.
If you host your website with Arminco UNIX hosting services, you should use the ns4.host.am and ns3.host.am DNS servers.
No additional records/ip addresses/hostnames are required; moreover, they can interfere with the normal operation.
Try to to query the "WHOIS" service for your domain name at https://www.amnic.net/whois/.
If the DNS server information is wrong, correct it and allow up to 24 hours for the settings to take effect. To Top
- A message saying “This Website Has Been Temporarily Suspended” is displayed when I try to access my website.
Most probably this message is displayed because you have skipped a payment. Please contact our hosting department to resolve the issue. To Top
- "The page cannot be displayed" error page is returned by the Internet Explorer.
Try visiting a different website, f.e. www.yahoo.com. If it’s displayed, check if there is a local DNS server working at your side which “thinks” it’s responsible for your domain name. Contact your local network administrator for assistance on this issue. To Top
- The browser stalls for some time and then gives a "timeout" error.
Please try again in 5 minutes, if the problem persists, check your internet connection by ‘ping’-ing your website (start -> run -> cmd, ping www.yourdomain.am). If it says “Unknown host”, check the DNS settings as described above. If it says “connection timed out”, check your internet connection and try again. To Top
